![]() Three-Way Stop TCJS’s Education Committee is pleased to announce the next performance of its Young Artists Series on August 19th at the Artists Quarter in St. Paul. The early set (7 pm) will feature the guitar trio, Three-Way Stop.
Three-Way Stop includes guitarist Keefe Tarnow, bassist Ted Olson, and drummer Lars Johnson. Keefe is a 2010 graduate of St. Paul Central High School who has studied with Jeff Lambert and at Walker West, and performed with the Minnesota Youth Jazz Band. He plans to attend the Berklee College of Music in Boston in fall 2011 after a year gigging around the Twin Cities. Ted is a 2010 graduate of St. Paul Como Park High School. He’s studied with Travis Schilling and Adam Linz, and will attend Luther College in Decorah, IA this fall, where he hopes to play in the Jazz Orchestra directed by Tony Guzman. Lars attends McNally Smith College of Music and studies with Paul Stueber. “We play standards and a growing repertoire of originals, in a 60s bop mode,” says Ted. Usually held on the first Thursday of the month, six times per year, the August Young Artists performance was rescheduled due to the National Poetry Slam event at the AQ in early August. The remaining performances of 2010 will be October 7th and December 2nd, 7 pm at the Artists Quarter. Student bands (middle school through college) interested in performing on this series are encouraged to contact Andrea Canter. Bands may be school-based or independent ensembles of no more than eight musicians. We will be scheduling performance for February, May and June 2011 |
