Doctors available on TruDoc speak up to four languages:
Doctors can prescribe medication (including refills) over TruDoc. The app also arranges delivery to the member’s home or work address.
It is also possible for members to arrange lab tests and blood sample collections over the app.
Members aren’t limited to virtual consultations with doctors. You can also book consultations with a dietitian or psychologist using TruDoc.
If a doctor concludes that you need a consultation with a specialist, the doctor can arrange this through the app.
Nothing at all! TruDoc is free for all our members with an international health insurance plan, ensuring you have convenient, accessible and quality healthcare at your fingertips wherever life takes you. What’s more, using the app does not affect your renewal premium in any way.
Using this virtual doctor access has a host of benefits for members:
Telemedicine is the practice of medicine using technology to be able to deliver care at any distance. These remote clinical services allow health care professionals to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients using telecommunication technology.
Over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, telehealth services, such as those provided through apps and online hubs, became a necessity as patients actively avoided public healthcare settings. Now, the added convenience and accessibility afforded by digital care solutions has turned telehealth into a norm.
Data from McKinsey showing the use of telehealth has increased 38x from pre-Covid levels. This is hardly surprising when you consider the benefits to both patients and healthcare providers – shorter wait times, less expense, digital on-demand access to healthcare solutions and the ability to monitor patients remotely.
Telemedicine through TruDoc works by remote consultations, which are available in the following ways:
Once medicine is prescribed, the prescription can be sent to you by email. Alternatively, medication can be delivered to you through one of TruDoc’s pharmacy partners. Controlled medicines, however, cannot be prescribed via teleconsultation.
If needed, your doctor can issue a referral letter for a specialist, which can be arranged through the app.
