In health insurance, well-being refers to preventive health measures for adults and children. These are usually routine check-ups or tests, aimed at protecting your overall state of health.

The information on this page refers to health insurance policies starting in 2025. If you live in the UAE, please check out our information on well-being in the UAE.
Well-being refers to a person’s overall state of health, including factors such as physical health, mental health, and emotional health. Well-being is usually associated with a sense of vitality and happiness.
How does this translate into the world of international health insurance? Well, health insurance providers typically provide benefits to help improve your well-being.
These benefits typically include routine health checks, smoking cessation aids, vaccinations, and developmental checks for children.
While these benefits don’t directly ‘boost’ your well-being, they do help you look after your physical, mental, and emotional health. Catching an illness like cancer early, for example, can improve your chances of responding well to treatment. Assistance with quitting smoking can help improve your physical and emotional state of health in the long term.
We cover the following well-being benefits on our Silver and Gold plans:
We cover the following preventive health checks:
There’s a 6-month waiting period for this benefit.
We cover the following screening checks for cancer:
We cover the following vaccinations:
We cover immunisations and booster injections that form part of the government-recommended programme for the country where the child lives.
There’s a 6-month waiting period for this benefit. If you add your child to your policy at least 6 months after your policy first started, we waive this waiting period.
We cover allergy patch testing and routine developmental check-ups (including vision and hearing).
Well-being benefits are only available on our Silver and Gold plans:
Limits are per policy year.

Global health insurance (also known as international private medical insurance) gives you access to private healthcare around the world.
While most domestic health plans only cover you in one country, international health plans cover you in multiple (or even all) countries. They’re great for people who live and work abroad, or who spend lots of time travelling. Some international medical plans also include emergency medical evacuation cover so you can access urgent treatment even if it’s not available in your location.
All the benefits on this webpage are per member per policy year, unless we state otherwise. We show the benefit limits in US dollars, but we can also denominate your policy in pounds sterling or Euros. You won’t find complete information for our plans on this webpage, nor the full T&Cs, limitations, and exclusions that would apply if you purchase a health insurance policy. You can find complete information in the plan agreement, which we suggest you read together with this webpage. We work hard to ensure the information we provide on this webpage is accurate and up-to-date, but inaccuracies are possible. We rectify errors as soon as we become aware of them. The T&Cs that apply to your policy are those found in your plan agreement.
