International personal accident insurance is a type of insurance policy that pays a lump-sum in compensation should you suffer bodily injury or death as a result of an accident happening.
It is designed for expats who live abroad so that they are covered wherever they are in the world.
Personal accident insurance can provide a safety net for you and your loved ones in the aftermath of a serious accident.
For example, if you should find yourself unable to work and provide for your family as a result of an accident, you and your loved ones can be secure in the knowledge your family’s standard of living can be maintained and that debts such as a mortgage can be paid.
Accidents come in all shapes and sizes, and for families living abroad, the consequences can be disastrous. Living in a country where you are unfamiliar with the culture, language, and infrastructure can increase the risk of accidents.
For example, if you have an accident at work, a road traffic accident, a slip, trip or fall, or an accident resulting in permanent disability or the loss of body parts, you will be covered if you have personal accident insurance. Similarly, you will also be covered if you’re injured or killed in a terror attack, or any other form of criminal activity in which you’re a victim.
At William Russell, your personal accident benefit will become payable when an accident occurring during your policy year results in one or more of the following occurrences within two years of the date of the accident:
There are certain situations that won’t be covered by personal accident insurance:
