Technical Pricing Manager

Oliver Anderson is the Technical Pricing Manager at William Russell, and joined the business in 2023.

The role of Technical Pricing Manager involves helping to maintain and grow the business in a profitable manner, balancing our costs and returns with good value to our members.

On a day to day basis, this involves developing and maintaining data models to understand and monitor our performance, planning and helping to deliver product developments and price adjustments each year, as well as other standard monitoring for the business and regulatory reports.

Oliver has worked across all aspects of travel and health insurance, from claims to underwriting, portfolio management and pricing. His introduction to insurance was with the Royal Bank of Scotland in 2007, assessing travel insurance claims. From there, Oliver began training as an Underwriter for InterGlobal in 2010, specifically for medical and financial underwriting cases. In 2015, Oliver joined Now Health as a Senior Underwriter, expanding his role to develop quote tools and underwriting philosophy. In 2017, he moved on to join IMG Europe as a Pricing Underwriter, where Oliver helped develop tools to manage and monitor the performance of the portfolio and became heavily involved in product development.

Oliver has extensive knowledge of insurance and many fin-tech software packages. He is a Power BI Analyst Associate and a Certified CII member (Chartered Insurance Institute).
