What makes William Russell’s life insurance “international”?

Domestic life insurance policies typically cover you only while you’re permanently resident in the country where you purchased the policy. That’s usually your country of nationality or another country where you’re living permanently. With international life insurance, your cover is not tied to a particular country or region. You’ll have cover all around the world. International life insurance can be a useful solution for people who live and work abroad, but who want an insurance product from a western insurance provider. It can also be a useful solution for people who travel frequently or live between two or more countries.

With William Russell, there are a few restrictions on your international cover. You don’t have cover if die in the following circumstances:

  • as a result of war, terrorism, or any other act of violence in a country or region that the British Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has—for security reasons—advised British citizens to leave, or has advised against all travel to, or has advised against all but essential travel to; or
  • if you die from any cause while you’re in Iran, Libya, North Korea, South Sudan, Syria, or Yemen.
